This collection consists of a two-page typescript synopsis with holograph pencil notations, and the original script from the unproduced film, A Tanglewood Story. James Agee and Howard Taubman co-wrote the film. This was one of Agee's final projects before his fatal heart attack in 1955.

Biographical/Historical Note

A Tanglewood Story was written by James Agee and Howard Taubman. The story was set in an unnamed city and in Tanglewood, Massachusetts. The film is about how an aspiring young composer struggles to make a name for himself and navigate a difficult relationship with another musician.
