Biographical/Historical Note

Charles H. Roney (1841-1917), enlisted in the Union army on September 13, 1861 as a first sergeant. He was mustered into D Co. of the OH 16th Infantry on this date as well. He mustered out on October 31, 1864. Charles was the son of Peter A. Roney (1814-1864) and Elizabeth A. Comer (1815-1881) of Muckingum County, Ohio.
