Abstract

This collection consists of a newspaper article from a 1984 edition of Inside TVA regarding the military service and awards of Clifford Hambick, a soldier in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Biographical/Historical Note

Clifford Hambick (1920-1999) was a solider in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served in the military as Technician Five in the 1st Ranger Battalion and a member of Darby's Rangers. He earned five Silver Stars, four Bronze Stars, three Purple Hearts, a Presidential Citation, the Combat Infantryman's badge, and a Distinguished Service Cross. After his service, he worked as a carpenter's tender at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant with the Tennessee Valley Authority. He was originally from Graysville, Tennessee.
