Gordon Beem Collection
This collection includes Gordon Beem's personnel records, other military documents, correspondence, and newspaper clippings as well as photographs and film negatives documenting his time with the U. S. Air Force during the Korean and Cold Wars. Dating from 1951 to 1970, Beem's personnel records and military documents depict his service in the Air Force. His correspondence includes letters to and from him and V-Mail addressed to loved ones. The newspaper clippings are dated circa 1960s but also include some news clippings from circa 1860. His photographs depict his family life while serving in Korea and his other services. Also included are portrait film negatives and magazines.

Biographical/Historical Note
Gordon Beem was born February 1, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio. Beem was a major for the 4th Fighter Wing in the U. S. Air Force. He fought in the Korean and Cold Wars and was stationed mainly in the Korean and European theater during those wars.
