This collection includes two maps of the China-Burma-India theater, headquarters documents, membership records of John H. Allen, a World War II soldier. Also included is Allen's journal of places and connected events and an interview transcript of Allen detailing his time serving in WWII. During the war, Allen served as a second lieutenant and was stationed in India where he headed a supply post for Chinese troops.

Biographical/Historical Note

John H. Allen (born August 20, 1915) joined the service on May 15, 1941; he was soon stationed in Ft. Barrancas, Florida, a coast artillery station. By December 1942, Allen and his fellow crewmembers were sent overseas to India. Allen was stationed at a small village, where he was put in charge of a supply station for the Chinese forces.
