Tap Roots Original Screenplay
This collection contains the original screenplay for the 1948 film Tap Roots, directed by George Marshall and starring actors Van Heflin, Susan Hayward, Boris Karloff, Julie London, and Whitfield Connor. Biographical/Historical Note
Tap Roots is a 1948 war film set during the Civil War. Based off the 1942 James H. Street novel of the same name, it is loosely based on the true story of Newton Knight, a farmer who attempted to secede Jones County from Mississippi during the war.
