Abstract

Biographical/Historical Note
Frank Baghetti joined the Army Air Forces when he was 18 years old. Two years prior to this enlistment, he worked in his town's steel mills making up for the significant labor shortage resulting from the draft. On December 15, 1943, Baghetti volunteered for the Air Forces at Pittsburgh, PA, and his military life began a few months later in May of 1944. He served in the 501st group of the 315th Bomb Wing under General Frank Armstrong.
