Biographical / Historical
Amanda Brown Neal Wheelock was born June 23, 1870 in Rhea County to John Randolph Neal (1836-1889) and Mary Elizabeth Caroline Brown Neal (1842-1920). In 1891, she married William Edward Wheelock (1869-1927). She died March 21, 1946, and is buried in Rhea County.
Rhea Springs Church was founded in 1845 as the Sulpher Springs Campground. Early in the church's history it split into two factions which became two different churches.
