Biographical / Historical
Staub's Theatre opened on September 26, 1872 on the corner of Gay Street and Cumberland Avenue in Knoxville. Built under the management of Peter Staub, this venue was Knoxville's first opera house. After a life of hosting various theatrical shows and performances, the building was demolished in the 1950s.
Leon A. Gouffon was born September 15, 1887 and died December 20, 1970.
