Biographical / Historical
On February 4, 1975, the 15-member Knox County Flag Commission was formed in order to design an official Knox County flag before the bicentennial of the United States. While the colors red, white, and blue were quickly decided upon, it took many suggestions and several sketches by Betsey B. Creekmore and Mrs. James Smith before the final design was decided upon. A commercial artist then drew the final design, and it was adopted in March 1975.
