Biographical/Historical Note
Dixie Lee McCrary was born on October 4, 1895 in Virginia to James and Nancy Beal McCrary. She was a genealogist and published two books on the subject: Robert Steele of the New River Valley in Virginia: with some descendents and allied lines (1976) and The Ellis line from Surry - Sussex in Virginia (1978). She died died February 2, 1986 and is buried in Sullivan County, Tennessee.

Collection consists of five boxes divided into two series:

- Series II: Spiral Notebooks
