Abstract

Under then-Governor Lamar Alexander, the state of Tennessee embarked on an extensive program of educational reform called the "Career Ladder." The goal was to improve K-12 education. Towards the end, the State created a program to reward professional development on the part of teachers by improving their skills. Contained within this collection are research materials, memos, correspondence, and other material related to the development of the program. A more extensive folder-level inventory exists. Please consult with the archivist.
