Biographical/Historical Note

Albert Arnold "Al" Gore (1948-) served as Vice President for Bill Clinton from 1993-2001. He ran for president in 2000 and lost narrowly to George W. Bush. Earlier in his career he served as a U.S. Representative (1977-1985) and Senator (1985-1993) in the United States Congress.
