The ribbons are printed with gold text that states the event and dates. The seventeenth reunion took place in Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota, on August 13 and 14, 1884. The nineteenth reunion was held in Rock Island, Illinois, on September 15 and 16, 1886.

Biographical / Historical
The Army of the Tennessee was a Union army who fought during the American Civil War. The Society of the Army of the Tennessee met for the first time on April 14, 1865 in Raleigh, North Carolina, and was limited to officers who had served with the Army of the Tennessee. The society consisted only of men who served in the Army of the Tennessee. Throughout its existence, the organization raised thousands of dollars for monuments to various Union officers like General James B. McPherson and General John A. Logan.
