Biographical / Historical

Joseph B. Boyd (1920-2012) served as a flight officer with the Air Corps in the U.S. Army during World War II. Boyd served with the 71st squadron, 1st Fighter Group of the 15th Air Force in North Africa and the Mediterranean and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service. Boyd and his wife, Frances Davis Boyd (1924-2020), lived in Roane County, Tennessee, following the war.
