Overview
This collection consists of an invitation to the commission ceremony for the USS Abercrombie in May 1944.
Biographical / Historical
Edward Peary Stafford (1918-2013) served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, including as 1st Lieutenant with the USS Abercrombie, and retired from active duty in 1963. Stafford authored multiple books including Little Ship, Big War which details the efforts of the Abercrombie during World War II. The USS Abercrombie was a destroyer escort with the U.S. Navy.
