Biographical / Historical
Dr. Veda Mae Maxwell Bateman was born August 8, 1921, in Canada to Veda Maxwell Bateman Eviston and Norman Bateman. Bateman earned degrees from University of Tennessee and Vanderbilt University. She served with the American Red Cross in Europe in 1944-1945 and later in 1946 in Korea. She died February 18, 2017, and is buried in Knox County, Tennessee.
