This collection contains memorabilia, including postcards, currency, dog tags, and an ID bracelet, belonging to Billy Gene Taylor from his military service in the early 1950s.

The four postcards are picture Italy and are stamped from the USS Donner on April 25, 1951; they were sent to his wife, Patricia, in Nashville. The currency is from several countries including France, Italy, Algeria, Germany, Belgium, and more.

This collection contains memorabilia, including postcards, currency, dog tags, and an ID bracelet, belonging to Billy Gene Taylor from his military service in the early 1950s.

Biographical / Historical

Billy Gene Taylor was born April 5, 1926. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Following his wartime service, he went back into service in December 1950, serving on the USS Donner, and was discharged in April 1952. He worked in postal service during both of his military terms. Billy Gene Taylor died on January 22, 1975, and is buried in Davidson County, Tennessee.

Arrangement

This collection consists of 2 small envelopes worth of material. One envelope contains money and postcards. The second envelope contains original dog tags and an ID bracelet. These envelopes are placed inside a singular folder inside a quarter box.
