The Allbritton Family Papers contains photographs, letters, ration booklets, and V-mail related to various members of the Allbritton family during World War II.

Letters among members of the Allbritton family and friends date between 1943 and 1945. There is a photocopy of Elvis's draft registration card. There are photographs of Lee during the war as well as other unidentified photographs. There are five ration booklets with stamps attached that belong to different members of the family.

Biographical / Historical

Elvis Henry Allbritton was born March 18, 1924 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana to Henry Purvis and Mary Barnhill Allbritton. He was a member of the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the 91st General Hospital Unit. He died at the age of 78 on April 18, 2002.

Lee Allbritton was born July 22, 1926 to Henry Purvis and Mary Barnhill Allbritton. He was married to Maxine Tyler Allbritton for nearly 65 years, and together they had 2 daughters. He served in both the Army and Air Force. He was a member of the 152nd regiment during World War II. Lee was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and retired with 21 years of service, and he passed away on November 26, 2015 at the age of 89.
