The collection also contains military documents such as supply, order, and transfer forms; certificates; receipts; and intelligence photographs and maps from his photographic missions.

Biographical / Historical
Meeks Bringle Vaughan served in the Pacific Theater of World War II as an intelligence officer in the 17th Photographic Reconnaissance Squadron in the 13th Air Force. Vaughan was born September 21, 1919 in Tipton County, Tennessee. He attended the University of Tennessee from 1938-1942; here, he met his first wife Mary Jane Anderson (d. 1992). Vaughan served in WWII from 1943 to 1945, largely in the Pacific, like Guadalcanal, Morotai, Luzon, and Palawan. He returned to the United States in late October 1945 and was honorably discharged on February 5, 1946 with the rank of captain. Vaughan died at the age of 90 on January 10, 2010, and is buried in Sullivan County, Tennessee.
