Biographical / Historical
John Montgomery Gabard was born July 11, 1909, in Chapel Hill, Tennessee to William Montgomery and Nell Haynes Gabard. Gabard served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, having enlisted in 1942 in Griffin, Georgia. He married Ruth Fielding (1910-1981) in 1938. Gabard died November 21, 1974, and is buried in Georgia.
