This material documents some of William M. House's military service in World War II, especially with the 94th Troop Carrier Squadron. Included is a reunion program for the squadron alongside a letter July 1982 from Lt. Col. Thomas F. Corrigan from 1982. Additionally there is an undated booklet entitled "D-Day to V-E-Day."

Biographical / Historical

William McLean House Jr. was a First Lt. pilot with 94th Troop Carrier Squadron during World War II. Born in 1916, he was a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, and a graduate of University of Tennessee. Before his military service, House was an engineer with Hardwick Woolen Mills and Fulton Sylphon Co. During the war, House served with the 439th Troop Carrier Group, which dropped paratroopers into Normandy and Southern France. After the war, he worked in the clothing maufacturing industry. House died in 2002 and is buried in Knox County.
