Biographical / Historical

Rocky DeLaurentis was born and raised in Shelton, Connecticut. He ran track at Shelton High School, was a florist with his father, and was a part of a surveying crew in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He then joined the Navy to become a machinist but failed the color test, instead being placed with the 97th Construction Battalion, or Seabees, which served in the European Theater. After the war, he owned and operated a ship-balancing firm in National City, California.
