Biographical/Historical Note

John A. Hankins was born to Catharine E. (Gass) (1833-1881) and William P. Hankins (1832-1880) in 1856 in Greeneville, Tennessee. Hankins married Laura M. Park on September 26th, 1878. The couple had one daughter, Katie. Hankins worked as a dry goods merchant in Greeneville. He died in 1882 at the age of 27 and is buried in Greeneville, Tennessee.

No biographical information is available for Jessie J. Rankin.
