Biographical / Historical
Sergeant William "Bill" Hayden Ettinger served in the Pacific Theater of World War II as a combat photographer in the 161st Signal Photo Company with the U.S. Army. Ettinger was stationed in New Guinea for three years during the war.
Ettinger was born August 23, 1914, to Hayden and Alta Hensey Ettinger in Illinois. He married Ann Norman (1921-2018) in 1949 and they had three children. Ettinger died January 2, 2007 and is buried in Illinois.
