Biographical / Historical

Thurman Eugene Johnson (1925-2004) served as a Pharmacist’s Mate in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Johnson was drafted in July 1943 and after boot camp, he served on the USS Cecil which traveled throughout the Pacific Area including Pearl Harbor, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. Johnson married LaVonda Culbertson (1926-2010) in 1944.
