Biographical / Historical
Edward Paul Laughlin was born on December 19, 1924, to Mae and Paul Laughlin in Kansas City, Missouri. Laughlin enlisted in the military in 1942 and went on to serve in the European Theater of War in World War II as a paratrooper and demolitions specialist in the 82nd Airborne Division. Following the war, he married Patsy O’Donnell in 1949. Laughlin retired in 1993 after 27 years of service within the Army Aviation Command. Laughlin passed away on January 16, 2011, and is buried in St. Louis County, Missouri.
