This collection contains photographs taken by James Judd during his World War II military service. Included are approximately 180 black-and-white photographs that document Judd’s time in training and overseas, specifically in France and England. Many of the images showcase bridges, planes, and ships in these areas. A portion of the photographs have been numbered and include a typed caption list.

Biographical / Historical

James Judd served in the European Theater of World War II as an engineer in the 181st Pontoon Engineers Battalion. He landed in Omaha Beach, Normandy, on July 9, 1944. During his overseas service, he helped construct bridges.
