Biographical/Historical Note
James Patton White was born to Dr. William Ballard and Sarah (Boy) White in 1821. He married a woman named Sarah, and the couple had at least seven children: Mary, Margaret, Nancy, Francis, Malissa, Julia, and William. James White died in 1897 in Scott County, Virginia.
