This collection houses conference planning materials and handouts, meeting minutes, publications, and other items documenting the Southeastern College Art Conference (SECAC) from 1930 to 2017. The collection is arranged into five series:

Series I: SECAC Conference Files (1942-2017) houses planning materials, financial reports, correspondence, registration forms, and attendee handouts.

Series II: Planning Files (1930-2017) contains planning meeting notes, correspondence, conference programs, Board of Directors meeting minutes, and copies of the SECAC Review.

Series III: Board Meeting Minutes (1942-2017) consists of typed and handwritten minutes, financial reports, and exhibit committee minutes.

Series IV: Newsletters and Publications (1959-2017) contains copies of the SECAC Review and newsletters.

Series V: Oversized Materials (1950-2010) contains large format material.

Abstract

This collection houses conference planning materials and handouts, meeting minutes, publications, and other items documenting the Southeastern College Art Conference from 1930 to 2017.

Biographical/Historical Note

The Southeastern College Art Conference was organized out of the Southeastern Regional Conference of the College Art Association in 1942. The meeting of 1949 was the first in which Southeastern College Art Conference (SECAC) was used as the official name. The purpose of SECAC is to promote art in higher education. SECAC's two major activities include its annual conference and the publication of the SECAC Review.

Acquisition Note

This collection was initially donated to the University of Tennessee Libraries, Knoxville, Special Collections in 2002. Periodic accruals have been donated in the years since.
