This collection includes letters of appreciation from fans, correspondence with publishers, newspaper clippings and announcements, and papers related to Nancy Siler's two books, The Peculiar Miss Pickett and Miss Pickett's Secrets. The collection also contains works on the East Tennessee Baptist Hospital and a history of the First Baptist Church of Knoxville.

Biographical/Historical Note
Nancy Julian Siler was born in 1923 in Roane County, Tennessee, to Ruth and Charles Julian. She worked as an educator in California, New York, and with the U.S. Army. After settling in Knoxville, she worked as a layout and copy editor for Miller's Advertising Department. Siler published two children’s stories with Holt, Rinehart, and Winston: The Peculiar Miss Pickett in 1951 and Miss Pickett's Secret in 1952. Siler was married to sports writer Tom Siler (1909-1988). In addition to her writing, Siler was active in many civic organizations in the Knoxville area, particularly the Knoxville Garden Club. Siler died in 2018 and is buried in Knox County.
