Collection of World War II Letters to Tennessee
This collection contains letters written by various soldiers throughout World War II. The letters are addressed to friends and family living in Memphis and Knoxville, Tennessee. It appears that a number of the soldiers corresponded with one woman in Memphis, June Bacigalupo, between 1941-1946. The letters, written both at home and abroad, discuss little more than base life and various aspects of training.

Biographical/Historical Note
The letters of Joseph Anses indicate he was training as U. S. Navy pilot in the first half of 1945. Sgt. Walter Crosley letter's describe his training as an Army Air Force pilot. Pvt. John Morehouse served in the U. S. Army Air Force. James Morgan's letters come from his training in Miami, Fla. as a Naval Air Gunner. Sgt. Robert Moyes served in the Army. Pvt. Albert Ricci served in the Army Air Force. James Riggs was training in Memphis for service in the Navy. Homer Spivey served in the Army. Sgt. L. M. Spivey was in the Army Air Force, as was Cpl. Robert Williams.
