This collection consists of a receipt for corn and horses delivered to the 10th Michigan Cavalry in January of 1864 during the Knoxville Campaign.
Post-dated receipt No. 5 Abstract of Quartermaster Stores for 112 lbs of corn for 45 horses that had been invoiced to B. F. Sherman in voucher No. 2 Abstract while serving as 1st Lieutenant Co. M of the 10th Michigan Cavalry in the month of January 1864 during a five day stay in Knoxville, Tennessee shortly after the siege by Longstreet
