This collection houses three orders and one letter concerning the operations of the 69th Ohio Infantry during 1862.
Biographical/Historical Note
Leonard C. Counsellor was born to David and Mary Counsellor in Ohio in about 1838. He enlisted in Company I of the 58th Ohio Infantry on October 12, 1861 and was transferred to Company H of the 69th Ohio Infantry and promoted to Captain on March 3, 1862. Leonard Counsellor was killed on January 2, 1863 at the Battle of Stones River and is buried in the Stone River Cemetery.
