This Thomas H. Benton Letter, 1818, to the St. Louis Circuit Court brings suit against Adam Brown for withholding a payment to Benton. On the reverse side, the court clerk has written to the Sheriff of the County of St. Louis to detain Adam Brown to give a plea.
