Scope and Contents Note From the Collection: The Jarnagin Family Papers, 1834-1890, consists primarily of receipts from personal and business expenses accrued by the Grainger County, Tenn., family. The majority of these receipts are from East Tennessee businesses. Included are many receipts from Cowan, McClung & Co. in Knoxville.The earlier receipts are addressed to Chesley Jarnagin.
