Scope and Contents Note From the Collection: This collections consists of a framed appointment dated July 23, 1812 for Nyndert M. Fox to the rank of a captain in the 13th Regiment of Infantry in the United States Army. This document was signed by both President James Madison and Secretary of War William Eustis.
