Scope and Contents Note From the Collection:

This collection contains an undated school assignment on World War II, written by Rick Eldredge It features patches, including the insignia for an army major and the white four-leaf clover shoulder sleeve insignia for the 4th army, as well as photographs from the war, including Hitler's old balcony, a concentration camp at Nordhausen, Germany, and a Pill Box on Omaha Beach.

Scope and Contents Note From the Collection: This collection consists of two letters written by Adam Loy of the 89th Indiana Infantry to his wife Sarah . Loy writes of his experiences in the infantry. The diction of the letter is quite poor, making it difficult to decipher.In the first letter dated May 21, 1863 from Memphis, Loy writes that his regiment has lost four men since it has been in Tennessee and that there has been a great deal of sickness and fever. Wiggins of the 42nd Ohio Regiment dated August 7, 1862, from the 42nd Ohio Infantry's Camp Virginia, located outside of Chattanooga, Tenn. The letter is mostly of a personal nature recounting several foraging expeditions his regiment was involved in.
