This handwritten trial docket book records cases from September 1822 to March 1830 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Among parties listed are Tennessee frontiersman David "Davy" Crockett and Tennessee politician William Carroll.

Scope and Contents Note From the Collection: This collection consists of one handwritten document from 1804 by William Maclin pertaining to the boundary line between Virginia and Tennessee. It also includes a handwritten letter signed by John Sevier on July 11, 1804 confirming the validity of Maclin's document. Typed transcripts of both documents are also included. In 1779, a survey team was commissioned to plot Tennessee's northern boundary, but the attempt encountered several problems and the final conclusion was a line several miles...

This collection consists of a handwritten diary of John Thompson's with entries dated between 1803-1811. Included is a travel account of Thompson's journey by boat from Nashville, Tennessee, to New Orleans, Louisiana, and his return on land via the Natchez Trace. Other entries include recipes, remedies, and miscellaneous tales. Typed notes about his entries accompanies the diary.
