William Weber Letter
William Weber wrote this letter to his brother, Martin Weber, from camp at McMinnville, Tennessee on August 10, 1862. He reports that he and his company are well and tells of their recent victory against Confederate guerrillas. He also recounts an amusing story about their Major General (“Moniter”), who slept all day and got the company into trouble.
William Wertenbaker on Edgar Allan Poe
This collection includes a reproduction of a handwritten page by William Wertenbaker in 1869 about his time with Edgar Allan Poe at the University of Virginia in 1826. Wertenbaker comments on Poe's temperament and work as a student. At the end of the writing, Wertenbaker includes a brief list of the books Poe borrowed from the library during the semester. The letter in this collection is not an original.

Willie Blount Letter
Tennessee Governor Willie Blount wrote this letter to Henry Newman, Jr. in Boston on December 10, 1811. In it, he expresses his hope that the United States will teach the indigenous people on the Wabash and their [foreign] aiders and abetters, that we are not only united but determined to be free and independent of all nations. He also discusses family and personal business, including Judge Hugh L. White and his family.
Willie Blount Letter
Tennessee Governor Willie Blount wrote this letter to Benjamin Homans, J. E. Smith, and William Blagrove of Boston, Massachusetts on November 22, 1810. In it, Blount thanks the men for sending him a copy of a speech given to the Bunker Hill Association in Boston (he does not mention who gave the speech) and expresses his appreciation for the organization's work.
