This collection contains two ledger books from Greeneville, Tennessee, with entries from the Board of Mayor and Alderman on tax reports, town codes, and more between 1818 and 1871.

This collection consists of a letter from Union solider H. H. Thomas to William G. Brownlow in Knoxville, Tennessee. Thomas congratulates Brownlow on his nomination for governor of Tennessee, praises him as a supporter of the Union, and asks for a position in his administration.

This letter, to Harmon G. Lea, shares Hardin Shannon's concerns about the upcoming election for representative from Grainger County, Tennessee, and discusses Shannon' affiliation with the Whig Party. Shannon is particularly worried that Colonel Cleveland and Esquire Moore will manipulate the election to Shannon's detriment so that Cleveland will be elected.

The papers of former United States Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. (born 1970). Ford served as Congressman from Tennessee's 9th District from 1997-2007 and ran an ultimately unsuccessful Senate race against Bob Corker in 2006. Although the collection contains some materials from Ford's father and congressional predecessor, Harold Ford, Sr. The bulk of materials are from Ford's own five terms and 2006 Senate campaign.

This collection consists of a memorandum of monies received by Hinchey Petway belonging to the state of Tennessee for land in Williamson County. The ledger contains fifty-six pages of entries which spans the years 1824 to 1838 with the bulk of the entries recorded prior to 1830.

This collection contains scrapbooks, speeches, correspondence, photographs, essays, eulogies, and a biography documenting the life and work of Tennessee statesman Horace Maynard. There are a few items of unknown origin, including a deed for 60 acres on the south side of the French Broad River to John Wright signed by Governor William Carroll and two certificates of sale for land in Ohio purchased by Mathew Heuston and signed by President James Madison.

This collection documents the political career of John Jennings, Jr. While the majority of the collection comes from his time as a Tennessee Representative (1939-1951), there are also materials documenting his time in other political offices, as well as personal papers from as far back as 1898. The collection contains correspondence, radio speeches, bills, claims, committee papers, newspaper clippings, newsletters, scrapbooks, invitations, programs, and photographs.

This collection consists of a letter from John M. Lea to William G. Brownlow, Governor of Tennessee. Lea briefly introduces his recommendation of H. G. Smith as Judge of the Supreme Court and refers Brownlow to a full letter of recommendation originally enclosed with this letter.

In this letter, John S. McNutt solicits support from Colonel John C. Gaut for his candidacy for Attorney General. He wants Colonel Gaut to persuade the local citizens to support his candidacy as well.
