This collection consists of a letter dated July 30, 1864 from Rear Admiral David Farragut to H. R. Billings that officially granted Billings's request to be detached from the USS Vincennes.

This collection includes accounts written by Artie E. Akers documenting different stories from his time as a submarine "volunteer" during World War II.

Lastly, the collection contains a CD-ROM of photographs taken by Herron 1950 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict.

This collection contains Benjamin F. Witt Jr.'s military documents and photographs from his time in the U.S. Navy during World War II, particularly while serving on the USS Moffett. The photos show work and recreational time of the service members as well as views from aboard the ship. The documents include Witt's identification card, training course certificates, newsletters and reports related to the Moffett., and other military paperwork.

This collection consists of a transcript of an interview with Buck Donaldson by Kurt Piehler and Tiffany Davis conducted on October 21, 2002 in Knoxville, Tennessee as part of the Veteran's Oral History Project. In the interview, Donaldson speaks about his childhood in the Depression, his experiences in the Navy during World War II, and his postwar life as a missionary in Africa.

This collection contains papers documenting the World War II service of Carroll G. Wright. Included are five letters written from Wright to his wife Elaine; a telegram to Elaine declaring Wright missing in action, and a copy of a newspaper article regarding Wright’s missing-in-action status and likelihood of death following the attack on his ship, the USS Franklin.

A letter from David Farragut, signed "D. G. Farragut," to E. Caylus dated March 20, 1867. In it, Farragut expresses gratitude for receiving the Abraham Lincoln bronze medal for his achievements in Lincoln's administration.

This collection features a letter written by Admiral David G. Farragut to Secretary of the Navy Isaac Toucey, dated September 25, 1860.

This letter, dated September 14, 1864 and signed D. G. Farragut, was written on board Farragut's flagship Hartford while it was anchored at Mobile Bay, Alabama. Addressed to Commodore Jason G. Palmer, it consists of an order to change the names of three vessels.

This collection contains two letters sent to David Glasgow Farragut while he was serving on the MS Flag Ship Hartford. They are dated 1863 and 1864. The letter dated 1864 concerns the appraisal of a schooner captured by the Estella.
