The UT Libraries Records encompasses the administrative, operational, outreach and service, instructional, and academic research activities of its departments, faculty, and staff from 1878 to the present. The records illustrate the library system’s commitment to enhancing students’ academic experiences at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus through print and electronic collections, reference and instructional services, and facilities and technological resources.

The UT Marching Band Collection holds the historical material for the Pride of the Southland Band, currently a 300-member university marching band known worldwide for its outstanding musical performance and precision marching. The collection includes photographs, audio and visual recordings, drills charts and game scripts, and memorabilia dating 1901 to the present.

This collection houses scripts of radio programs broadcast on University of Tennessee radio stations from 1997 to 2005. The material for each month consists of a cover page with a one-line summary of each news story broadcast and detailed scripts (including handwritten edits) for each report. These reports cover University, state, and national news.

The UT Rowing Team Collection covers the University of Tennessee Lady Vols Rowing Team from 1997-2010, but is missing year 2001. The materials contained are media guides, award plaques, and posters.

This collection contains a pamphlet created in 1918 for the vocational section of the University of Tennessee Student Army Training Corps.

This collection consists of a single pamphlet dedicated to former UT students who lost their lives in World War I.

This collection houses copies of the news releases that the University's News Bureau produced between February of 1971 and June of 1982.

This collection houses photographs, correspondence, clippings, and other materials documenting Virgina Mae Root's time at the University of Tennessee (1947-1951).

The Visual Arts Committee produced this brochure to promote art displays in the University Center concourse and visiting artist lectures scheduled during the 1999-2000 academic year.

This collection consists of two notebooks of lecture notes written by W. Neil Franklin during his tenure at the University of Tennessee. The notebooks are dated between 1922 and 1924 and feature notes about economics, government, European history, and United States history.

The W. Stuart Evans Collection consists of one box of subject files and correspondence. The bulk of the materials include correspondence between Evans and such prominent University of Tennessee personalities as Edward J. Boling and Andy Holt.

Walter L. Newton took these photographs of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus between 1902 and 1906. Among the subjects depicted are the Science Hall, the Chemistry Lab, and several views from the Hill. The album also includes a list identifying each photograph.

These materials, spanning 1895 to 1940, are from Walter Woodburn Hyde, noted academic, historian and archaeologist from New York. The items include newspaper clippings, a personal notebook, notes, photos, a letter, menu, pages from a book, index card, and bulletins and postcards from the travels of Hyde around United States and European universities and historical sites.

This collection consists of two copies of a memorial composed for William H. Jesse after his death in 1970. It includes a brief obituary, a tribute written by University of Tennessee President Andy Holt, and a tribute written by Jesse's Secretary Daphne Townsend.
