Cline Family Papers
This collection houses records documenting the Cline family. It includes a delayed birth certificate for Charlie Winford Cline (born 1889) from 1955, an agreement of Joe Cline's heirs in 1930, and a deed recording property sold to the family in 1927.
Conner Burnette Collection of Knox County, Tennessee Land Deeds
This collection contains seven land deeds and six land grants from Knox County and, specifically, Knoxville, Tennessee. Two of the land grants are signed by governors of Tennessee, William Carroll in 1839 and William B. Campbell in 1852. Another land grant is signed by John Sevier. Two clerks, M. S. Patterson and R. A. Brown signed the Clerk and Master's Deeds.
Davidson County (Tenn.) Deed Book
This collection consists of a deed book from Davidson County, Tennessee in the late 1700s and early 1800s containing a list of people who owned deeds of land along with descriptions of the land indentures to act as receipts of ownership. Additionally, inside the book is a newspaper clipping from the January 13, 1930 issue of the Nashville Banner newspaper.
Deeds to the University of Tennessee
This collection contains copies of deeds of university property dating from 1795-1927, with contracts listing who the property was bought from, when, and the conditions of the transaction. The deeds include landmark additions: acquisitions from Blount College, various farm properties, the president's home, and athletic fields. Digital surrogates are online in the TRACE Repository.
Green Hill Land Grant
This collection contains a land grant from the State of Tennessee for Mr. Green Hill, totaling 40 acres in Rutherford County, Tennessee. The document bears the signature of Governor John Sevier.
James B. McDowell Land Deed
This land deed, dated April 1, 1829 and signed by Andrew Jackson, documents James B. McDowell's purchase of 80 acres of land in Township Sixteen of Indianapolis, Indiana. McDowell was then living in Marion County, Indiana.
John J. Daturic Papers
This collection consists of two letters, three deeds belonging to John J. Daturic, and two monthly reports from the Knoxville Business College of R. A. Anderson. Daturic bought and sold real estate in Knox County. These materials span from circa 1877-1890.
John R. Patrick Deed
This collection contains one deed dated February 1, 1841. It was written by High Sheriff John R. Coffey of Jackson County in Alabama stating that the lands mentioned in the document, ceded by Samuel M. David and set to open auction, were purchased by John R. Patrick for 49 dollars. This granted him, his heirs, and attendants all rights to the property.
McMinn County Deeds and Indentures
This collection consists of a survey map pertaining to the purchase of "Walker Mill Reservation" and four deeds all from McMinn County, Tennessee. The deeds date from 1847-1869.
Tipton County Register of Deeds
This bound register consists of deeds from Tipton County, Tennessee, documenting May 1895 to May 1896.
