This collection contains 45 items, mainly articles written by Carson Brewer for the Knoxville News-Sentinel from 1959 to 1992. Most of the articles contain local stories about history and people's experiences or activities.

Adamson's life and work as a newspaper reporter, student, and University of Tennessee Professor of Journalism. Included is research related to Adamson's book The Lit Stick of Dynamite, which documents the desegregation of Clinton (Tennessee) High School in 1956 and its bombing in 1958.

This collection contains a copy of a newspaper account book, A Narrative of the Life, Travels, and Circumstances Incidents Thereto of William G. Brownlow, and two bonds signed by Brownlow. The narrative appears to have suffered water damage and many parts are faded or illegible.

This collection contains correspondence, receipts, accounts, and gubernatorial addresses documenting the life and work of William Gannaway Brownlow.

The Willis C. Tucker Papers document Tucker's involvement with the University of Tennessee School of Journalism between 1947 and 1976.
