The collection’s contents include the United States passport for Albert N. Strong. Strong was 33 years old when the City of Washington issued his passport on June 6, 1889, which describes his physical characteristics as well as shows the number of countries Strong visited.
Collection consists of two scrapbooks documenting the travels of Benjamin Rush Strong.
In this letter dated August 3, 1850, to Sarah J. Armstrong of Jerusalem, Va. Daniel Douglas describes his travels throughout the United States, including stops in Lancaster County, Pa., Wheeling, W.Va., and Cincinnati, Ohio. He also discusses the death of Mrs. Tyler and methods of pressing and preserving flowers.
This collection contains the diary of Dr. Amos R. Garrison of Knoxville, Tennessee. Garrison's diary spans the years 1898 to 1902 with the bulk of the passages in reference to the people he met, the places he visited (including Chattanooga, TN; Louisville, KY; Salt Lake City, UT; and San Francisco, CA), and both his schooling and his teaching.
This collection contains a letter written by geologist Henry McCalley to his brother William dated Pleasant View, August 29. The letter details McCalley's travels from Memphis, Tennessee down the Mississippi River and then from New Orleans, Louisiana to eastern Texas. He describes in detail his stays in the cities of Galveston, Victoria, and Goliad, Texas.
The John C. McLemore Collection, 1820-1993 (bulk 1820-1822), consists primarily of McLemore's logbook from 1820-1822, which includes entries on bank balances, purchases, notations of travel, and other information. Also included in the collection are four articles from the Commercial Appeal (Memphis), dated 1974 and 1991-1993.
This collection consists of two travel journals compiled by Kate White in 1912 and in 1916. The first journal, kept from June 22 to July 7, 1912, details White's trip from Frankfort, Kentucky to San Francisco to attend a meeting of the General Federation of of Women's Clubs. The second journal, kept from June 28 to July 22, 1916, describes White's automobile trip heading East to the Shenandoah Valley, Gettysburg and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Hampshire.

A bound typescript of Robert Houston Armstrong's journal recording information about his travels during 1850 and 1851, including expenditures and information about the places he visited during this time. His writings focus on his personal observations and opinions, as well as descriptions and some history of the sites.
This collection consists of one diary written in by Robert Y. McReynolds from 1835 to 1838. McReynolds primarly writes of his travels as a circuit preacher, largely in the Kentucky area. At the end of the journal he writes about various relatives.
S. D. Cabaniss created this list to document the expenses that Martha Allen incurred during her trip to and from Lexington to visit her daughter Virginia Allen at Elk River. The majority of the charges are for lodging and pikeage, but several document such purchases as a pair of boots for the driver, a Bible for Virginia Allen, and several articles of clothing.
This collection contains a series of letters written by Samuel Cole Williams to his wife during June 1921. In addition, there is a letter from 1919, offering Williams the deanship of Emory University's School of Law (a position he accepted and held for six years).
The Ship's Passenger Log, 1864, consists of a list of passengers on different voyages of one ship, instructions on keeping lists of passengers, and a ledger of passage dues. Passengers listed include William Cullen Bryant and William G. Parson Brownlow. There is also a photograph of an unknown man.
