Abstract
This collection consists of a poem and two letters. P. S. Atchley wrote the poem, which describes a Union soldier saying goodbye to "Dear Brother Green" as he dies in battle, for Aunt Mariah Hodges on April 21, 1866. A typescript of this document is also present. The first letter, from Sister Julia in Marietta, Georgia, is dated April 28-29, 1882 and describes the reaction to Juan running off with the "married washerwoman."
