This collection houses correspondence produced by the Papers of Andrew Jackson and the Papers of Andrew Johnson. These letters include attempts to obtain funding from various government entities, arrangements for Harold Moser to come to the University of Tennessee campus to take part in the project, a budget summary for the year 1978, and discussion of a collaboration with Vanderbilt University.
Patrick Brady Papers
This collection consists primarily of Patrick Brady's writings and publications. He was particularly interested in period style, structuralism, archetypal theory, psychoanalysis, transactional analysis, group behavior theory, feminism, multiculturalism, catastrophe theory, chaos and complexity theory, and control theory and published extensively on the Rococo style, Zola, and Proust. The collection also houses a body of Brady's correspondence, slides, and other materials.
Peter De Vries Letter
This 1958 letter is from novelist Peter De Vries to Eric Stockton, professor of English at the University of Tennessee, about a quote De Vries used in one of his books (possibly Mackerel Plaza which was published that year) from De Quincey's essay "Savannah-La-Mar."

Philip M. Hamer Diary
Philip Hamer kept this typed diary during the controversy at the University of Tennessee over President Harcourt A. Morgan dismissing Professor J. W. Sprowls, allegedly because Sprowls had assigned a text discussing evolution entitled Mind in the Making. The manuscript also mentions Morgan's firing of Assistant Professor of Art Ada (Haun) Withers (1886-1978) on similar grounds.
