A Brief History of Marine Air Warning Squadron Eight
This collection consists of memoir titled, A Brief History of Marine Air Warning Squadron Eight by Ed. Farmer, written in 1984. It includes a history of the Marine Air Warning Air Squadron Eight stationed in Okinawa, Japan during World War II. The booklet includes maps and personnel rosters of the various operations of MAWS-8 as they landed in Okinawa.

Clifton B. Cates Military Service Collection
This collection consists photographs and press clippings of Clifton B. Cates. He served in both World War I and II in the United States Marine Corps. Cates was the 19th Commandant of the United States Marine Corps from 1948-1951.
Donald B. Heffron Papers
This collection consists of a photocopy of Donald B. Heffron's handwritten, personal account of his World War II experiences as a Marine Raider. The manuscript begins with his last few years in high school and ends circa 1946. Also available is a press clipping from The Knoxville News-Sentinel, part of an advertising supplement in the September 6, 1998, issue on Townsend, TN.
Francis and Pauline Gualtiere Papers
This collection includes personal photos of Francis and Pauline Gualtiere during their military service with the Marine Corps. Included are pictures of their wedding reception, military portraits, and friends. Also available are press clippings about their nuptials as well as a letter Sgt. Francis C. Gualtiere submitted to The Parish Monthly Calendar regarding faith during wartime.
Freytag Family Papers
This collection gives a glimpse into the life of the Freytag family, a miltary family from Wartburg, TN. The collection includes correspondence, press clippings, photographs, and certificates regarding the Freytag children, Albert Jr., Fred, and Maxwell. Albert Jr. was enlisted in the U.S. Marines, Fred was enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and Maxwell was enlisted in the U.S. Army. All materials are photocopies, donated by the family matriarch, Ethel H. Freytag.
George William Wyatt Papers
This collection is comprised of photocopied, proof versions of George W. Wyatt's Super Breed 1, later published as Super Breed 1: A Journal of the First Marine Engineers, Pioneers, and Seabees, and Super Breed 2. While Super Breed 1 documents several campaigns of the 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, a significant portion of the book focuses on Wyatt's personal experiences in the Guadalcanal Campaign. Super Breed 2 is made up almost entirely of captioned photographs.
Howard Eisenacher Papers
This collection includes several photos of Howard L. Eisenacher and the E-C-7 1st Marine Division on location in New Guinea circa November 1943. Also included is a letter recounting Eisenacher's experiences to Dr. Charles Johnson from 1997.
Ira H. Hayes Memoir
This collection contains a photocopy of Ira Hayes' handwritten manuscript documenting his World War II experiences, particularly the assault on Iwo Jima. In addition to describing intelligence and combat preparation for the operation, Hayes also includes the anecdotes and personal stories of his peers during the campaign. The document includes several inserts written by other soldiers as well as transcribed letters.

This collection consists of a service memory book presented to John C. Messamore by his mother. In addition to basic identification information - such as Messamore's service branch, home address, and religion - the book also contains a list of important dates to remember, mailing addresses for friends and family, as well as brief narrative "snapshots." Also included are two photographs of a young woman.
John E. Lane WWII Memoir
