The Daphne Townsend Movie and Music Collection, ca. 1945-1960, contains headshots and stills of many movie and music stars. Included in the collection are photographs of such stars as Doris Day, Jimmy Dorsey, Danny Kaye, Alan Ladd, Veronica Lake, and Angela Lansbury.

The Tennessee Waltz is a popular country music song written by Redd Stewart and Pee Wee King in December 1946. The song, made famous by Patti Page in 1950, would later become one of Tennessee’s official state songs. The manuscript is a handwritten lead sheet composed on a piece of music paper and includes penciled-in substitutions for lyrics in the bridge.

This collection contains a copy of "The Memphis Blues of Mister Crump" song lyrics by William C. Handy and George A. Norton. The lyrics are signed by Handy and dated January 1, 1942, from New York City, N.Y.
